Cheek Implants

Dr. Zimbler frequently uses facial implants to improve and enhance facial contour.  Patients with under projected cheek bones who desire a fuller facial look should consider cheek implants.  Often these implants can provide a more harmonious balance to your face so that you feel better about the way you look. 

Different size implants are available and are made from various materials.  Through careful pre-operative discussion, an implant size is chosen to meet the patient’s needs.  The implant is inserted through a small incision in the mouth just under the lip.  The implant is inserted in a discrete pocket next to the bone to assure the implant is properly placed. 

Most patients are presentable 10 days after surgery however many patients prefer to use camouflage makeup beyond the first week in order to hide any residual bruising.  As incisions heal, you may experience some numbness at the site.  Discomfort is mild and easily controlled with oral medication.  Healing however is completed gradually over months, well after bruising and swelling has subsided.
